Music Weekend 2018 21st & 22nd September

There is still time to book for this year's music weekend.

The Barrstools confirmed for September music festival

Delighted to be welcoming our good friends The Barrstools back for this year's music festival over 21st-23rd September. They'll be performing on the Saturday night as well as impromptu sessions throughout the weekend.

Summer Availability

We've still pitches and accommodation left for the perfect Summer break in the peaceful, tranquil surroundings at Balloch O' Dee Campsite.

Our Ethos

In recent years there has been a trend towards 'Glamping' sites and while we do offer some alternative accomodation on site, the overall experience we hope, still has a 'proper' camping feel.

We are not a glamping site, but a traditional campsite with some different options for you. After camping all our lives, we have tried to create the sort of campsite that we would like to camp on:- a relaxed, interesting and safe place for the family where, hopefully, you can get back to what matters in life.

Enjoy the peace

We dont have many rules at Balloch O Dee. One of the things that used to drive me bonkers when we went camping was turning up on site and the first thing we were given would be a long list of things that we were not allowed to do, What a welcome!

All we ask is that you respect your fellow campers, the environment and our Camp Ethos. :-)

We dont have any set pitches for tents so you can pitch up wherever you like. We try and keep numbers to a sensible level so you dont feel crammed in. Obviously on Bank Holidays or some School Holidays we do get busy and again we just ask that you respect other campers and families in terms of space and noise.

Speaking of Noise

We want you to enjoy yourself and we are a very family oriented site. There is nothing better than sitting round a camp fire with a guitar and good friends and family into the wee small hours putting the world to rights, we love it.

However, if you want to have your stereo blasting out all night then this is not the site for you. Fair play to you, enjoy, but just not here. :-)

Our Animals

All of our animals are free range so don't be surpised to be sharing your shower with a chicken or your tent with a Shetland on occasion.

Dogs

Please note: We are a very dog friendly site (We have five dogs) and you are welcome to bring your dog to Balloch O Dee however if you have an aggressive dog or one that is not good with other animals or people then we please ask you to leave them at home - if you are in doubt then please call us first. :-)

Recycling

We strive hard to recycle as much as possible at Balloch O Dee and whilst all the rubbish is collected together, it is all sorted and recycled.

The Environment

We have always lived by the philosophy that wherever we are we should leave that place in a little better shape than how we found it - we hope you share that view :-)

The Ponies

We have over 20 Ponies at Balloch O Dee of all shapes and sizes and there is plenty of opportunities for campers to help out and to get involved with the ponies if they would like to. Our helpers will tell you, there is always mucking out to do as well as grooming and general horse pampering.

Some of the smaller Shetland Ponies wander 'free range' around the site a lot of the time and they will often come and sit with you by your campfire in the evening. They are all very friendly and used to people and its a great way for campers to get up close to the ponies and really interact with them.

The stanes are found out on the trails in the forests, in prominent locations near cycling and walking paths. They’re accessible on foot or by horse as well as by bike, and range in size from one to three metres high and from two to six tons in weight.
