The Ranch House

The Ranch House sleeps 6 people. It has a hand-built superking size 6 poster bed and two sets of bunk beds dowstairs with stairs leading to another double bed upstairs.

The Ranch House was converted from an old cow shed in the yard and was a labour of love over an entire winter, we hope you enjoy the result.

It has its own wetroom with shower, toilet and sink. There is a large log burning range cooker in the main room with a full-size oven and three hot plates to cook on. There is also a second log burner with cooking hot plate in the small conservatory at the front. It has a microwave kettle etc. plus usual sheets, pillows etc - Just bring your own sleeping bag/duvet and towels.

Prices vary depending on time of the year.

How to book

Our Ethos

In recent years there has been a trend towards 'Glamping' sites and while we do offer some alternative accomodation on site, the overall experience we hope, still has a 'proper' camping feel.

We are not a glamping site, but a traditional campsite with some different options for you. After camping all our lives, we have tried to create the sort of campsite that we would like to camp on:- a quiet, relaxed, interesting and safe place for you to enjoy, where  hopefully you can get back to what matters in life, with the enphasis being on peace and quiet. Children are welcome on site but we would ask that you are mindful of your fellow campers and do not let them charge around the site unatended, screaming and shouting, please remember, we are a quiet site.

Enjoy the peace

Apart from a couple of points listed below, we don't have many rules at Balloch O Dee. One of the things that used to drive me bonkers when we went camping was turning up on site and the first thing we were given would be a long list of things that we were not allowed to do, What a welcome!

All we ask is that you respect your fellow campers, the environment and our Camp Ethos set out below. :-)

We dont have any set pitches for tents so you can pitch up wherever you like. We try and keep numbers to a sensible level so you dont feel crammed in. Obviously on Bank Holidays or some School Holidays we do get busy and again we just ask that you respect other campers and families in terms of space and noise.

Speaking of Noise

We want you to enjoy yourself while you are here. There is nothing better than sitting round a camp fire with a guitar and good friends and family into the wee small hours putting the world to rights, we love it. We just dont want your enjoyment to be at the expense of everyone else. Please remember that noise travels far and fast across an open campsite and whilst you may think you are being quiet, the reality for your fellow campers may be very different, so please, while you are here,  be mindful of that.

We dont allow amplified music onsite. Please feel free to play any live instruments you may want to bring with you, just no phones, bluetooth speakers or car stereos.  If you do want to have your stereo blasting out all night then this is not the site for you. Fair play to you, enjoy it, but just not here. :-)

Our Animals

All of our animals are free range so don't be surpised to be sharing your shower with a chicken on occasion.

Dogs

Please note: We are a very dog friendly site and you are welcome to bring your dog to Balloch O Dee however if you have an aggressive dog or one that is not good with other animals or people then we please ask you to leave them at home - if you are in doubt then please call us first. :-)

Recycling

We strive hard to recycle as much as possible at Balloch O Dee and whilst all the rubbish is collected together, it is all sorted and recycled.

The Environment

We have always lived by the philosophy that wherever we are we should leave that place in a little better shape than how we found it - we hope you share that view :-)
